Obamarama

What can I say that isn't coursing through the blogsphere right now? Barak Obama will be President of the US some day. He is dynamic and one of the most amazing political speakers I have seen in a while. He mixed specific political positions with personalized stories of real American people. His speech will go on my "frequently watched list" and I'll probably burn it onto DVD to watch anytime I get jaded with politics. Watch this man - he will do great things.

I don't know a thing about this man except what the DNC wants us to know about him. I will not judge his character because I have never spent time with him, but since he has been thrust upon us as the possible first African American President and we are all suppose to adore him I want him to answer some tough questions.

1. If he is a man of Faith...what are his beliefs?
2. Is he against abortion or for it?
3. Does he support defending our nation from all enemies?
4. Will he stand for what's right or wilt under United Nations pressure?

I don't know what faith has to do with Mr. Obama being fit to be president. I would think after Bush, the last thing we need is a president who wears his religion on his sleeve. What about separation of church and state?
Why do people continue to use abortion and religion as wedges in elections?

I can't stop thinking about his speech at the DNC. I too felt like I was watching history in the making and also felt that he would someday be the 1st AA president, before the comentator's remark. I hope that Kerry's people have already contacted him about being a cabinet member. Any idea how I can purchase that speech, unfortunately I didn't record it??

You can find the videos at CSPAN.org and the audio at Apple's Web site for iTunes or the iTunes Music Service both for free.

I too can't stop thinking About Obama's speech. I thought he gave a better speech then even John Edwards and gave Bill Clinton a run for his money - and we all know how eloquent Bill can be. Obama got me up out of my chair and clapping all alone inside my house!! I had chills and tears in my eyes. I would LOVE to see Obama in a cabinet position in a Kerry Administration. He would excel like no other. I think he is the next Bobby Kennedy and WILL be the first black president of these UNITED states of America. And I for one will do EVERYTHING in my power to see this man elected president one day. Obama!!!

I woke up this morning thinking about Barak Obama's speech. As a mother of a son ,who's father is from a Caribbean nation and who too came to this country in search of a dream, won a full scholarship to an Ivy league university, attained 3 bachelors,2 masters and a doctorate degrees in this country on his educational merits.Hard work and a dream gave him hope for the future. As a public school teacher, from the mid-west,I have a background similar to Obama's mother, but with hope of the future ,I put myself through college to attain a bachelor's,master's and doctorate degree. We, as parents encouraged our son to dream and to follow his interests and talents. He is now an internationally acclaimed documentory filmmaker and will be publishing his first book this fall.I can related to the speech and to the personna of Barak Obama. I,too cried upon listening to his speech, as I did once again this morning reviewing his speech on the DNC website and reading your comments on this site.I feel safe for our future knowing Obama, one day ,WILL hold a cabinet position and become our FIRST African American PRESIDENT of the USA. His honest heart is open and he has the clear view, as well as intellect to make our country feel secure.I haven't felt secure since the Clintons left office. As I told my son,"This is the first time I have been so emotionally moved by a political speech since MLK. I feel relieved that there is HOPE once again for us all."I look forward to hearing more from our new "NATIONAL TREASURE"- Barak Obama.

Like he said in hes speech: Our FAITH shall NOT be used as a wedge to DEVIDE us.

There is a new kind of politics dawning, all over the world. A new wave, much bigger than Obama. I can feel it in the air. But he is, and will be, riding the crest of that wave. I've showed that speech to my most cycnical and jaded friends, and it brought tears to their eyes. (And we're all Canadian!)

"There is a righteous wind at our backs"!

His Presidency will restore America's true promise and mission.

Hi everyone, Barak is someone special. Some great skills. Seems pretty charismatic, quick on his feet, level headed and grounded. I want to watch and will. I will wonder where he should serve: representative, senator, cabinet, etc. Let the man grow a little in experience. Public office is not public speaking. Pls don't take that critically(sp?), I am very impressed.
