Whirlwind Trip to Windy City - Anyone around?

Hey folks - I'm headed to the Windy City of Chicago Sunday.

Well, sort of - I'll be in Linconshire at the Marriott Resort.

I arrive at about 11am and don't have to be anywhere until 6pm and I'd rather not be sleeping in my room.

An Ode to Autumn

A Sensory Autumnal Eve

Tonight is truly a beautiful evening. The tingle of chill on the tips of my ears, the slightest wisps of breath on air trying to make itself known; the crinkle of leaves beneath the feet and the cacophony of the present magnified by cold.

The smell on the still, crisp wind is that of fallen leaves and wood-burning smoke;
bringing to mind fingers entwined under wool blankets and steaming mugs of aromatic, fresh apple cider.

Fall is here and Winter is but creeping up the hearth.

Still among the living....

I wanted to let folks know I'm still around. I know the past two weeks I've been scarse from LiveJournal, Facebook, IM and such but work has gotten incredibly busy and will most likely be so. Q4 is always crazy for us.

It hasnt helped that I've felt awful all last week. My Mom helped out a lot with her nursely advice.

I'm caught in a bit of the whirlwind at the moment, turning to Facebook statuses to quickly mark the passing of time. I have not yet found the optimum solution for making blog postings and yet so much is up there in my head.
